Become a Mind Out Loud Ambassador

MOL Ambassadors are educators, school counselors, and other adults who work in schools or youth organizations and are passionate about elevating student voices in mental health advocacy and resources. Mind Out Loud is a student-led resource to provide connection, training, and valuable mental health and advocacy skills. • Share information about the MOL Annual Event with other educators, administrators, school counselors, or organization leaders.

    • Encourage students to join Mind Out Loud to benefit from the trainings, connections, and resources the program has to offer. Read more about the different roles HERE.

    • Let colleagues or college-aged students know about opportunities to mentor students through the Affiliate Mentor program.

    • Sign up to receive regular updates on Mind Out Loud Events

    • Invite your school site and district administrators to participate in Mind Out Loud events

    • Pass on information about student director, student representative, and student supporter opportunities to your students.

  • MOL Ambassadors serve to provide awareness of the program and support students in joining, as well as support other educators or leaders at their sites to engage students in the program. HOW TO GUIDE: Host a Classroom Watch Party

Step 1: Prepare in Advance

Register for the event on mindoutloud.org and share the event details with your students.

  • Digital/Printable flyers are available for download at the bottom of this page. Post flyers around campus and send digital flyers to students and families about the event.

  • Sign up for donuts!

    • Mind Out Loud will reimburse up to $75.00 worth of donuts per classroom that hosts a watch party. Opportunities are limited, please sign up HERE after you register for the event.

  • Decide where you and your students will watch the event (Classrooms, all school assemblies, etc.)

Step 2: Communicate with Students

Inform your students about the event and its importance for mental health awareness.

  • Encourage students to come to class with an open mind and a willingness to engage in discussions.

  • Send an email to parents sharing information about the event and Mind Out Loud resources from mindoutloud.org

  • Students may find out more about the event through Mind Out Loud social media:

Step 3: Set Up the Virtual Event

Arrange for any necessary equipment, such as a projector or speakers, to enhance the viewing experience.

  • Ensure that you have adequate internet access to stream the event.

  • Click the “Join Live Event” button on the home page of mindoutloud.org or join from the registration link that was sent to your email.

  • Share about your school’s participation in the event on social media! Tag #MOL24

Step 4: Facilitate Discussions

After the event, allocate 10-20 minutes for a brief discussion to allow students to share their thoughts and feelings. Work with school and district administrators to ensure there are resources and support for any students who may want to talk more in-depth.

  • Share additional mental health resources available on campus with students, reinforcing the importance of seeking help when needed.

Step 5: Follow-Up

Consider incorporating mental health topics into your curriculum to continue the conversation.

  • Share your experiences with fellow educators and administrators to encourage future participation.
